About
I increasingly hear people make statements such as “I’m not religious, I’m spiritual.” I find that an interesting assertion and would like to explore the myriad implications of such a notion. So, to find a larger audience than my long-suffering wife (Joanie) and my small circle of friends and acquaintances (made smaller by our recent relocation to Santa Fe) I have, with Joanie’s encouragement, started this blog.
I chose the title “Omnis” because, in large part, the title “All Things Considered” is already taken. I wanted a title that sets the expectation that virtually any topic is appropriate for inclusion on this site. I also want to be clear that I welcome all perspectives and will seek to be informed by those perspectives that differ from my own.
I chose the subtitle “A Church Without Walls” because I will hope that discussion threads lead back to questions of values, meaning, and purpose. What does it mean to be a “spiritual” individual? How well do our religious institutions address this question? What new forms and structures are emerging among our religious institutions? What does it mean to be on a spiritual journey in the 21st Century?
